BYU grad. pt. 2

couldn't fit both of these pictures in one upload. Enjoy

April 2006 (BYU Graduation)

This happened last year, but I just made a couple of pages about it. What a wonderful day it was. I really felt such a sense of pride in my children for accomplishing this goal. Tyler got

a degree in Business/Finance, and Melissa got hers in Media Arts Studies (Film).

Knott's Berry Farm

When Melissa and Andy came down for the holidays, we took the crew to Knott's Berry Farm.

As you can see, we had a fun time together. We went on the rides, Mel and I enjoyed spending

time with Grace, and we finished it off with Mrs. Knott's famous Chicken Dinner.

still trying

Well, I'm still trying to figure out all the things you can do on Photoshop elements 5.0. It's HARD. There is just so much to remember. Maybe if I was 24 again. hee hee = )

Anyway, here's a few more creations. Carpinteria (again) and Julie ice skating.

Bryce Canyon

This last summer, Mel had the great idea of taking our immediate family to Bryce Canyon, before we headed off to lake Powell. We had a great time. We hiked, went horseback riding, and ate.

practicing with Sepia tone

Well, what better pictures to add the Sepia tone to, than wedding pictures. So here was my try at making Melissa and Andy's wedding pictures look "vintage"

My one and only son

Kauai in 2006

In October of 2006 my mom and sister, and my mom's twin and her daughters, went to Kauai.
My Mom, sister and aunt went for continuing Medical education, my cousins and I went to have
some fun. It was beautiful. While we were there, there was an earthquake and a tsunami warning. Whew, didn't feel the earthquake, and the warning was canceled shortly after it was given. We drove all over the Island, we went on a katamaran and saw spinner dolphins, that was probably my favorite thing. All in all, it was great to spend time with the family.

Julie's 8th grade promotion

O.K> can you tell what new technique I learned? Yep, that's why there are 2 separate posts with that kind of background. But here are some pictures from Julie's 8th grade promotion.

American Idol

O.K. I know I've already mentioned American Idol, but now I've made some pages learning some new skills. Making stripes. Wow. We sure had fun meeting the Idols and all the other

"stars". Barry Gibb sure looks different than he did when I was a teen. Meeting the guys from

Fantastic Four made me a little more curious in seeing the movie. Enjoy the pics

I've got to get my use out of my 30 day trial!!

Well, I have 30 days to get the use out of my free Photo Shop elements trial, so I'm scrapping away. It's been fun. I need to go on to lesson 3 so I can learn some more tricks, and produce

even better pages. But hey, I'm happy with what I've done so far. Better than I ever did with

the traditional method. So, I hope you enjoy this two page layout from our trip to Lake Powell

this last summer. We had a ball.

GRACE

Here's a sweet page of Grace at the beach with her parents. I'm done with lesson 2, now on to bigger and better things. (I hope)

Julie's scrapbook page

Well, of course I need one of these for Julie. Then I'll have to come up with one for Tyler too.

But I'm enjoying learning how to do this. There's more to learn too. I should just keep getting better and better. Anyway, here's Julie's page.

The art of digital scrapbooking

Wowser, I am trying to learn how to digital scrapbook, since I never had the patience for the traditional scrapbooking methods, and it's pretty time consuming also, but the creativity part is much easier. The idea's are largely there for you. So, here are my first 2 pages. Enjoy

Our trip to Oakland for David and Rolene's wedding

Saturday, May 12, Tyler and I flew to Oakland for my cousins son's wedding. Tyler was in the wedding, and I wanted to go to support the new couple and my cousin Sandra, who has been to both of my children's weddings. It started off good, the wedding was great, but all of a sudden I was hit by a bug. So at the wedding luncheon and the reception, I didn't feel good enough to eat anything. And I slept in the car during most of the reception. But other than that, it was a fun time. Great to see the start of a new family, and spend time with family. It was especially great to spend time with my son. Here's my toast to the new couple. May you live long and healthy and happy.

My Family

I figure while I'm posting, I may as well describe

my family and post a picture. Mel and I have been married for almost 29 years. We have 4 children who are the light of our lives. And now with Grandchildren being added, they are the icing on the cake. Anyway, our first child/son Tyler is married to Anna lisa and they have a beautiful daughter Grace. Tyler is working here in Southern California, which makes us happy to be close to them. Our second child/daughter Melissa is married to Andy and they are expecting a daughter in June. They are awaiting word on where he will attend Law School. Our third child/daughter Michelle is at BYU majoring in Early Childhood education and our fourth child/daughter Julie is a freshman in high school. The first picture is at one of my favorite places, Carpinteria Beach.
Then we have our sweet add on daughter Andrea Proctor, who has returned from the N.Y, N.Y
south mission, spanish speaking, working in Arizona right now. Hoping to find a better job soon.
That's the second picture.

So that's our family.

American Idol

Well, what better place than this to jot down some notes about our family, and post some pictures too. So here goes. Some exciting news for myself and Julie and her friend Kelsey.
We got tickets and VIP passes to American Idol! Thank you Coltan!! And the girls
took pictures with their 2 favorite Idols. Jordin and Blake. We met a crooner from my day. Barry Gibb. And we also got pictures with 2 of the actors from the new movie Fantastic
Four. So all in all, the girls felt like they'd gotten to see some fun people there at A.Idol
